My Slow Cooker and 9 Other Favorites

Hi Reader,

Happy Fri-yay! (as my girls say)

People ask me all the time what I actually use. The stuff I’d rebuy tomorrow if it broke. So I made a list.

I started in the kitchen then wandered the rest of the house, because not all my favorite things live in the kitchen.

In the Kitchen

  • This slow cooker (obviously) - the fact that it switches itself to WARM after the set cook time, plus the locking lid make it perfect for transport during the holiday season.
  • These storage cubes - I use these to freeze leftovers all the time. Plus, this week, I used the mini version to freeze fresh garlic cloves I ran through the food processor to make minced garlic cubes.
  • This pan - brownies come out clean and evenly baked every time. I'm persnickety about this one.
  • This shield - Thanksgiving is coming. No more foil tents and burnt edges.
  • This beater - the upgrade your stand mixer paddle attachment deserves.

Around the House

  • This vacuum - I am consistently shocked (& appalled) by how much this vacuum picks up.
  • These sheets - I look forward to them every night.
  • This sleep mask - it's come to the point that I need it to sleep.
  • This diffuser - I use it with plain water more often than not, for my plants, but it makes my office feel cozy.
  • This storage box - so much nicer to get out (& put away) ornaments when they're orderly.

Do you have a favorite thing? A little something that makes your life better? My annual cousins "favorite thing" party is coming up and I'm trying to think of what to include this year. I'm thinking that sleep mask, but I'm open to suggestions!

Hi Reader, In case you didn’t already know, I really like Halloween food. It’s one of the few times of the year when you can make something cute, creepy, or even a little gross and everyone is completely on board. So this list has a little of both. Cute ghosts, creepy treats, and plenty of things that would be fun to put out before trick-or-treating or for a Halloween movie night. Hi Reader, Happy Sunday! We’re 18 days into Crocktober and my slow cooker hasn’t had a single day off (and neither have I 😮💨). So this week I’m giving it a breather and mixing things up. A few dinners to get you through the week, plus a few bakes for a cozy afternoon. Hi Reader, It’s officially soup season, although if I’m being fair, I make soup in the slow cooker pretty much all year. October just makes it feel a little more appropriate. Give me potato soup, chicken noodle, or a big bowl of ham and bean, and I’m set. There are so many directions you can go depending on what you’re craving that night. Here are a few of the soups I’ll be making this month. Crockpot Soups for October Cozy Old-fashioned Vegetable Soup My Favorite Ham & Bean Soup Recipe...
