It's Chocolate Chip Cookie Day πŸͺ

Hi Reader,

Some food holidays are made up nonsense. This is not one of them. National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day is a silly holiday that I fully observe.

I've got opinions about chocolate chip cookies, so instead of one recipe, here are eight. Classic, salted, brown butter, a no-oven option for anyone who refuses to turn on the oven in August. Something for every mood.

Here's the lineup πŸͺ

🐿️ And, unrelated to cookies, but look what the squirrels are doing to the baffle in my backyard. My attempts to deter them aren't going well & they're rebelling. My new feeder arrives this afternoon. It has good reviews (& had a coupon!) so I'm hopeful. Any tips for me?

Hi Reader, Happy Sunday! We jumped on a trend bandwagon after church today & let Rose pick "4 Things Before 4th Grade" from Target. It was cute to watch her shop. Hi Reader, Today is a special day to me - five years ago today I left my marketing career to go all in on Persnickety Plates. Turns out that was an excellent decision ☺️ July was a good one. We did South Haven (Lake Michigan) and then Gulf Shores, both with family, both the kind of trips you don't want to end. School starts in just over three weeks & I'm tempted to squeeze in one more quick road trip before it does. We'll see. Even the girls have said this feels like the fastest summer ever....

Hi Reader, I make a lot of apps and sides in the summer. Partly because there's always a BBQ or a picnic to bring something to, and partly because they're just nice to have around this time of year. These eight are the ones I make the most. They work for potlucks, parties, or just snacking at home, and they've never let me down!
