Crocktober starts Thursday (are you in?)

Hi Reader,

Happy Monday! I'm en route to Seattle for some meetings with my ad manager. Have you been? It'll be my first time.

This one's a bit of a junk drawer email. The plane WiFi is really spotty so just three quick things.

🍂 Crocktober starts Thursday

Each October I post a slow cooker recipe (and video) every single day. That's 31 days of dump-and-go dinners, soups, dips & a few desserts, because I'm me.

Starting October 1st, I'll send one slow cooker recipe per day, on top of my regular emails. That's a lot of email, so it's opt-in only.

Want in? One click on the button below and you're on the list. Nothing else to fill out. If not, no hard feelings. You'll still get your usual emails.

⭐ Add me as a preferred source on Google

Google now lets you pick the sites you want to see first in Top Stories when you search. If you like my recipes, adding Persnickety Plates takes about 10 seconds. It really helps a small blog like mine show up next to the giant recipe sites.

Click the button, check the box next to Persnickety Plates & you're done.

💬 Leave me a comment (please)

Here's something you might not know. Comments & star ratings are one of the most helpful things you can do for a recipe blog. They help other readers decide what to make, they help Google trust the recipe, and I appreciate the feedback. They make my day.

To leave one:

  1. Scroll to the bottom of any recipe post.
  2. Pick a star rating if you'd like (it's optional, but I love them).
  3. Type your comment (swaps, tweaks, what your family thought, all of it).
  4. Add your name & email, then hit Post Comment.

Your email is never shown publicly. And yes, I read every one (even the ones pointing out there's no bourbon in my bourbon chicken).

What slow cooker recipe are you hoping to see this Crocktober? Hit reply and tell me.

p.s. Those Crocktober recipe videos will be posted on YouTube so make sure you're following :)

Hi Reader, I feel like high-protein dinners get a bad reputation for being a little boring. Plain chicken, rice, repeat. But there are so many better ways to do it. A lot of cozy favorites can get you there pretty easily, especially when chicken, beef, beans, or a hearty soup is involved! These recipes are a welcome reminder that high-protein food can still feel very much like comfort food.
