Hi Reader, I have something a little different to talk about today. Last night, I was at my parent's house for dinner and my dad showed me a funny monkey video, that happened to be AI, which sparked a discussion about AI content on the internet. I'm sure you've noticed your search results and feeds on Google, Pinterest, and Facebook are flooded with AI-generated content (here's a video I shared of how trashy my feed is lately). Or...maybe you haven't noticed and that's also a problem. It's getting trickier & trickier to spot. You used to be able to search for a recipe and get results from real creators (like me!) but now what you get is computer generated answers instead of options. AI is searching the internet for you, cobbling information together (or a recipe, in this case), & spitting out an answer. Computers don't test, taste, and tweak recipes to get them right like I do, which means you can be left to waste your time and money (no one wants to waste an egg! π₯) on a recipe that will very likely not work. Besides messing with your results, slimy, lazy people are capitalizing off this technology. Last week I shared this photo (on the left) on my Facebook page for my oatmeal peanut butter bars. A spammer had the nerve to leave the pic on the right in the comments so my readers would click it π. There are people who make a living off of creating a TON of fake AI websites. No thank you, creepy internet scammers who don't know what oatmeal looks like (there isn't even oatmeal in that recipe!). Here's how you can keep seeing my trusted recipes: π Be specific in your searches Instead of searching "slow cooker steak bites" try "persnickety steak bites" [basically, just add the word 'persnickety' to whatever you're looking for should get you to me] π Bookmark me Save persnicketyplates.com to your bookmarks/favorites on your phone and computer so you can easily search my site directly. ππ»ββοΈ Find me on socials Whether it's Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or Youtube, if you see me on social media, say something! The more you interact with me, the more I'll show up in your feed. π If you've made it this far, THANK YOU. Creating recipes and sharing them with you is my full time job, how I support my family, and I don't take that lightly. I'm grateful you're here and I truly don't want you to waste your time and money. Have a brownie for your time. |
